It gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 51st Annual International Conference/Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) to be hosted by the Lagos/Ogun States Chapter at the Federal Palace Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria, from 10 – 13 November 2021. The NSChE Conference/AGM remains the major conference for Chemical Engineers in Nigeria as it continues to provide the opportunity for exchange of knowledge/ideas about industry challenges, policy issues, research/innovative solutions and networking opportunities.
The Golden Jubilee celebration of the NSChE which could not be held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic is scheduled to hold during this year’s conference. Given the uncertainty about the trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic by the time of the conference in November, the conference mode is being planned as hybrid (physical/virtual) to ensure that the events can be held either physically or virtually or both.
Very exciting technical, social and industrial visit programmes are being put together by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). These include Courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor by the NSChE BoD and LOC reps, Golf Tournament, Cocktail on Day I (10th November). Day II (11 November) will have Opening Ceremony/Opening of Exhibition, Technical Sessions I & II and Happy Hour. Day III (12 November) will have Technical Sessions III & IV, Sectoral Group Meetings, 50th Anniversary Session – (Celebration of the Founding Members), Cocktail, Technical session and interactions with the founding members etc and Happy Hour. Day IV (13 November) will have Visit to Dangote Refinery/Sight Seeing/Boat Ride,
Annual General Meeting, Annual Conference Dinner & Awards. Departure: Sunday, 14th. November. As usual, there will be group Tea Breaks and Lunch which provide opportunity for networking and reconnecting,
The technical programme will include presentations of both plenary and regular contributed papers, as well as discussions on the theme/sub-themes of the conference. Due to the to the multidisciplinary nature of some of the conference sub-theme, we would like to specially invite all engineers, scientists and other professionals actively involved in the areas of the conference theme/sub-themes to attend and participate. The conference will provide valuable opportunity for participants from Industry, Academia, Research and Government organisations to present and discuss efforts being made in the application of Chemical Engineering to the various challenges and the fast pace at which these are occurring in the areas of food, water and energy processing, biochemical engineering and bio-processing, green processing, waste management, medicine, nanotechnology, big data and machine learning, including the recent impact and mitigation of the COVID-19 pandemic, to mention a few.
The Conference Planning Team looks forward to welcoming you to Lagos State-the Centre of Excellence and the Land of Aquatic Splendour.

The manuscript must be in MS word “.docx” format, the text type face: Times New Roman, font size 12 pt, and double lines spacing.
Paper registration is performed by registering as a user on the paper submission website (CMT3). If you have an existing user account on CMT3, this can be used. The registered user will then enter a paper title and abstract. This will result in the allocation of a “Paper ID”. This shows
registration is completed and the Paper ID shown on the submission screen should be used as the paper filename for upload to keep the papers submitted anonymous i.e. "Paper ID", as allocated by CMT website upon registration of the paper, must replace author names and affiliations.
Once you have successfully uploaded the paper with the Paper ID as file name, the Submission Summary page will appear. The system does not automatically generate a confirmation email; however, you may do this manually by clicking on the “Email” button on the right. You have the option to send it to only yourself or all authors.
3.2 The title of the manuscript should be on top and should be uppercase and centered. The following line should have the authors names. The next line the full addresses of the authors, including e-mail addresses and contact phone numbers.

4.0 All accepted manuscripts will be published in the conference proceedings to be distributed to all participants at the conference.
4.1 The author (or at least one of the authors) of an accepted manuscript would be required to make a presentation at the conference, and would be required to pre-register prior to submitting the final camera-ready manuscript.
4.2 A selection of high-quality manuscripts presented at the Conference shall be considered for both the Best Contributed Manuscript Award of the Society and, publication in a Special Golden Issue of the Journal of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers. Authors of selected manuscripts shall be required to submit extended versions for consideration for publication not later than 31st January 2022.
