NICHEM INDUSTRIAL ESTATES (OTA) LIMITED Nichem Industrial Estates (Ota) Limited (NIEL) is a subsidiary of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers. It was established to set up industrial estates in different parts of Nigeria as a way of promoting industrialization and enhancing the practice of Chemical Engineering.
NIEL'S first industrial estate is a 230 acre of land which is located in Ota, a town in Ogun State of Nigeria, adjoining the suburban areas of Lagos. Hence, it has the advantage of nearness to the metropolis and population of Lagos as well as access to the ports, ocean and airports in Lagos. The site is at about Km 8 along Ota - ldiroko road, which connects Lagos with Republic of Benin, thus, it has direct access to the West African route.
NIEL'S Ota site is billed to have a NEPA substation for adequate supply of electricity as well as a central mini waterworks and wastewater treatment facilities. It is also adjacent to the ongoing Shell Gas (Nigeria) Limited's gas pipeline traversing Ota to Agbara on the west African Gas Pipeline Project. This will ensure access to adequate energy resources.
The Ota estate is well laid out and would have housing estates, motor packs, fuel stations, places of worship as well articulated telecommunication network. The estate is designed to accomodate various industrial layouts as follows: Shop floor facilities for small scale enterprises', Warehousing facilities; Medium scale industrial facilities; One-acre industrial plots.
NIEL is subscribed by the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, which has the largest share capital of the Company, as well as individual members of the Society and a few non-members who own one-acre industrial plots in the estate. (The Estate is presently under litigation)
The second estate which was granted to the society by the Governor of Ogun state is in the Papalanto area of the state containing the same facilities as the Ota estate.
Individuals and corporate entities both local and international, needing facilities for establishing factories and other business in the Lagos area are requested to direct enquiries to:
